What a cutie pa-tutie we get to work with this week. What are some of the possible issues I see with the image? Ahh, don't know, lol, I think this image is pretty decent already. It seems like it could be sharpened a bit. I think we will just play around with it a bit, so let's see what we can do.
Editing Programs:
Adobe Photoshop – CS2
By the looks of this image, I think it would look great with a urban look, we got the bricks and the dress going on.
Always add a layer. So CTRL-J.
Go to Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp mask, set it to 75 Amount 2 Radius 3 Threshold. These settings work pretty well for portraits. Then go to Image-Mode-Lab color. Over on the right side, click on your channels, highlight the lightness tab, now run Filter-Unsharp mask again. Next go up to Image-Mode-RGB color.
Zoom into her eyes. Sharpen her eyes up a little bit. While the lasso is still around the eyes, click on Image-Adjustment-Saturation. I increased the saturation on the eyes a bit.
Next, click on Blur and set it around 40%, then blur out the lips, just to smooth them up.
Next let's flatten the image.
I decided to use an action from MCP, Urban. I ran this action. Now let's run the action Telescope from MCP as well.
Next, I thought we could crop this image up a bit, so i decided to have her on one side of the image instead of the middle.
Next, let's run the Dirty action by MCP, this just gives a nice vignette look and a little urban feel as well.
Voila, I think we are done. I like the different look we came up with on this one. I was going for something different with a urban feel. We could have added some noise to this image for this type of look, but I don't think it's really needed. What a sweetie pie, so go edit for yourself and have fun.
