Well it's about time you get to see some of the pics from our 3,100 mile road trip, huh? Why am I calling it the Griswald vacation, well let's just say the first night I left my credit card at the restaurant and didn't notice until we were 250 miles away. However, it did get better and we all had a really nice time. So here it goes starting with Route 66 in Oklahoma.
Old drive-in movie theater just outside of Oklahoma City.

Route 66 museum in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Conoco station and U Drop Inn in Shamrock, Texas.

Old gas station in McLean, Texas.

One of the original Phillips 66 stations located in McLean, Texas.

Leaning water tower in Britten, Texas.

The Big Texan in Amarillo, Texas.

The vacation pictures will be posted in about six parts. If you are planning a Route 66 vacation, please contact me and I would be glad to answer any questions. Part 2 will cover Texas and New Mexico.

I really like the photo of the old run down gas station in Texas. It looks like a scene from a scary movie.
The pictures are all wonderful! I love all the building and the way you captured them. What a fun family vacation. You will have to post some of your family on the 2nd part!
Dude, these are so awesome! The first one blew my socks off!
Awesome as always. My dad worked for Phillips 66 for years, then Conoco/Phillips and now Suncor.
Amazing shots! Awesome job friend! :) Can't wait to see more
We use to eat at The Big Texan after church! I am from Amarillo :)
